Launching on Android first

Find people who actually play what you play

Not a server full of strangers. GameBuddy matches you on your games, your platform and how you like to play — then gets out of the way so you can go play.

What makes a match a match

Matching on a shared interest is easy. Matching on people who can actually play together is the part everything below exists for.

How it works

  1. Say what you play

Pick your games, your platforms and how you like to play — tryhard, completionist, chill co-op. Six screens, about a minute.

  2. Swipe the deck

Real profiles, ranked by how well they actually fit what you said. Pass or match.

  3. Match and play

When you both match, the conversation opens. Then go play something.

Questions

Is GameBuddy free?

Yes. Matching, chat and communities are free, with a daily limit on likes. Gold is optional and adds advanced filters, unlimited likes and a few cosmetic extras — it does not put the matching itself behind a paywall.

Is it a dating app?

No. GameBuddy matches people on the games they play and how they play them, so you can find a squad, a co-op partner or a raid group. It is built around playing together, not dating.

Which platforms does it support?

You tell GameBuddy what you play on — PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch or mobile — and it matches accordingly, because two people with the same games on different platforms usually cannot play together. The app itself is Android first, with iOS to follow.

Why is it 18+?

GameBuddy puts strangers in private conversation with each other, and that is not something to run for minors alongside adults. There is no younger tier and no supervised mode. Your age is calculated from a date of birth given at registration, and accounts found to belong to under-18s are closed.

What do you do about creeps?

You can block or report anyone from their profile or from a conversation, and reports are reviewed within 24 hours. Every uploaded photo is screened automatically before anybody else can see it. Contact details are stripped out of public text, so nobody can post a phone number into a community.

Can other people see my messages?

No. Message bodies are encrypted before they are stored, so the database holds ciphertext rather than your conversation. Moderators see a message only when you report it.

How do I delete my account?

From Settings inside the app, or by writing to support. Your profile, photo and taste data go; the other half of your conversations stays, because those are not only yours to erase. The full explanation is on the account deletion page.
